Watercolor yellow butterfly forget me not demo tutorial

HELLO my friends, thank you for being here. This is our second painting of the butterfly. I would like to do a third one, but maybe we will do a flower of summer, a wild flower, I have one in mind for the next painting. I have been having fun practicing painting butterflies. Learned a lot. And i hope you will to as you paint along with me. I went on a hike with my daughter’s family when they were here, somehow at the end of July, we have a lot of butterflies out playing. The most prominent is the black and white, and they were loving the summer wild flowers. Towards the end of the hike, as I was descending from a hill, I saw a butterfly with wings together and moving the bottom two wings together, it was very beautiful. Good thing I was wearing my glasses and could see well. My granddaughter actually enjoyed riding on the back of her father in the carrier. It was so nice, we went early at about 7am. It is super hot outside, I have always enjoyed night hike because i can see the night sky, but if we were to go now at night, the sun doesn’t go down until 8 or 9, it would be hard. And the heat remains in the air in the late afternoon, so morning really is the best time. Do you guys like summer hiking. Always good to go by a river it seems a lot cooler. Do you also enjoy night hiking, I do take falls sometimes, have to be really careful. It doesn’t matter if my shoes were brand new or old, I slipped on sandy soil. Nowadays my husband do too. I wondered why the young people don’t do that as much. It is no fun getting older. As they can tell I fall, they won’t trust me with baby, and seriously i don’t have the upper strength. My son in law is a great big person, very strong. Nature is so pretty, I hope you get to go out to have some fun with nature. I don’t know, maybe getting older also make the heat harder to bear. I go work in the yard at nightfall. Provo is not too bad with mosquitoes. We even get to go outside and bbq a hot dog or two, that was fun. Just doing it in the backyard while baby is asleep for the night. It was very nice having them for so long. My daughter walked me through how to post a video on pinterest, I know a lot of people find me there. Pinterest is slow but effective.

Ok colors used. Cadm yellow light and med for the body of the butterfly, sepia mainly and some cadm yellow med mix with red for the orange spot. Holbein’s royal blue for the forget me not, with prylene green and Magenta. Then it is my faithful green mix. Indigo, prylene green sap green and cadm yellow light. So much fun, I hope you will try to paint with me.
